Superfoods, part II
I wanted to buy a broad spectrum of books to round out my collection. I got an entertaining book: Feast by Nigella Lawson, a basics book: The Joy of Cooking. a baking book: King Arthurs's baking cookbook and of course a Rachael book I dont have yet: Get Real menus. Also, I got Superfoods Rx: the book that I mentioned in my first post as a blogger. It's a really cool book for learning more about healthy foods and there is alot of explaination and recipes.
I made my first recipe last night from my new cookbooks. Curried Chickpeas from the Joy of Cooking. Wow, it was fabulous! The main ingredients were chickpeas, sweet potatoes, green beans and cauliflower - in a yogurt, ginger, garlic, cumin and curry sauce. Oh and toasted coconut and cashews as garnish. It was a flavor explosion.
